Impact Wrestling Academy is excited to announce its Spring/Summer Wrestling Program! We will offer two distinct programs designed to cater to different athlete needs and commitment levels: the Core Skills Program and the Elite Program. Please read the program descriptions and expectations below to carefully to consider which program will best suit your athlete and family circumstances and needs.
TEAM MEETING (REQUIRED)
All athletes and their parent(s) are required to attend one of the following informational team meetings:
Sunday, March 2nd: 3pm at The Barn
Monday, March 3rd: 6pm at The Barn
These meetings will cover program details, training schedules, expectations, and answer any questions you may have. Attendance at one of these meetings is mandatory for participation in either program.
THE CORE SKILLS PROGRAM: OVERVIEW
Cost: $250
Description:
This program caters to athletes who require training flexibility due to life circumstances. It prioritizes quality training sessions and clinic-style coaching to maximize development while respecting external commitments. There will be 2 practices per week for this program, with dedicated sessions for: youth/middle school and middle school/high school.
Schedule:
March 10th – May 29th
Elementary School/Middle School (ES/MS): T/Th, 5:15 – 6:45pm
Middle School/High School (MS/HS): T/Th, 7 – 8:45pm
Note: depending on the final number of registrants, lower-weight wrestlers in the MS/HS option may be asked to move to the ES/MS session to ensure safe wrestling numbers across both sessions.
Expectations for the Core Skills Program to evaluate if it is the right fit for you:
Proven Wrestling Skill: Demonstrated competitive success at a moderate-high level (e.g., varsity starter, state qualifier). Focus is on becoming proficient at the core skills drill plan.
Commitment & Work Ethic: Demonstrates a strong work ethic within their available time. Focus is on maximizing effort and dedication during scheduled or agreed-upon training sessions. Attendance may be less frequent but quality of effort is paramount.
Discipline & Focus: Demonstrates consistent discipline and focus during training sessions. Ability to manage time effectively and adhere to individualized training plans is key.
Coachability: Open to feedback and willing to make adjustments within their training constraints. Focus is on applying coaching guidance effectively within their individual circumstances.
Respect & Sportsmanship: Consistently displays respectful behavior towards coaches, teammates, and the sport. Maintains a positive attitude and contributes constructively to the training environment.
Competitive Drive: Possesses a healthy competitive drive and a desire to improve. Focus is on personal progress and achieving individual goals within their training limitations.
Life Circumstances: Has commitments outside of wrestling that significantly impact training availability. This is a key factor for core skills program consideration.
THE ELITE PROGRAM: OVERVIEW
Expectations for the Elite Program to evaluate if it is the right fit for you:
Proven Wrestling Skill: Demonstrated competitive success at a high level (e.g., state qualifier, state placer, national qualifier/placer). Focus is on proven high-level performance and the potential to compete at the highest levels.
Commitment & Work Ethic: Demonstrates an unwavering work ethic and near-perfect attendance. Focus is on consistent, dedicated participation in all team activities and a willingness to go above and beyond. Competes in at least four of our five spring competition events.
Discipline & Focus: Demonstrates exceptional discipline and focus in all aspects of training. Ability to maintain peak concentration and execute complex techniques under pressure is essential.
Coachability: Highly coachable and eager to implement feedback immediately. Focus is on rapid improvement and refinement of skills based on coaching instruction.
Respect & Sportsmanship: Consistently displays exemplary respect and sportsmanship. Acts as a role model for other athletes and upholds the highest standards of ethical conduct.
Competitive Drive: Possesses an intense competitive drive and a strong desire to win. Focus is on achieving peak performance in competition and contributing to team success.
Life Circumstances: While life circumstances are acknowledged, it is expected that wrestling is a top priority. Significant external commitments may impact eligibility for the Elite Program.
